Milwaukee Symphony to give free performance in Ripon Saturday
The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin’s largest cultural organization, returns as guests of Ripon College Oct. 29 for its 44th appearance. Admission to this year’s performance is free and open to the public as a give-back and thank-you to the community.
The concert will begin at 4 p.m. in a new location this year: the Ripon High School Auditorium, 850 Tiger Drive. It is presented as part of the Caestecker Fine Arts Series at Ripon College.
Yaniv Dinur will conduct this year’s concert. Selections will include “Academic Festival Overture,” opus 80, by Johannes Brahms; Symphony No. 5 in D major, Opus 107, “Reformation,” by Felix Mendellsohn; “Night on Bald Mountain,” by Modest Mussorgsky; “Danse macabre,” opus 40, by Camille Saint-Saens; and “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” by Paul Dukas.
