Anderson ’10 Earns Ecological Award
Sarah Anderson ’10 , currently a Ph.D. student at Washington State University, was one of five students in the United States to earn an Ecological Society of America (ESA) Graduate Policy Award. This award allowed Anderson and her fellow award-winners to participate in policy training at the Ecological Society of America’s Washington DC office.
Anderson was previously awarded a policy fellowship with the National Science Foundation’s Interdisciplinary Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) program which allowed her to collaborate with cabinet advisors, policy analysts and scientists from non-governmental organizations. Her ongoing Ph.D. research is focused on atmospheric nitrogen deposition.
Anderson graduated from Ripon College as a biology major with minors in French and chemistry. She also participated in Ripon’s McNair Scholars program (a TRIO program funded by the U.S. Department of Education).
She was recently featured on the ESA podcast “The Ecologist Goes to Washington” which you can listen to or download here.
