George Penn from Wisconsin United to Amend: How to Limit the Impact of Big Money on Our Elections

November 14th: 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm @ East Hall, Little Theatre

This event is co-sponsored by the Center for Politics and the People at Ripon College and the League of Women Voters of the Ripon Area, and is open to the public.

We invite students and community members to join us for a short presentation, discussion and Q&A about the Wisconsin United To Amend (WIUTA) network. WIUTA is a cross-partisan state network of concerned citizens dedicated to restoring our representative democracy, by minimizing the corruptive influence that money has on our political process. They seek to overturn Citizens United and related Supreme Court decisions to reclaim the liberties and privileges guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution for real people. Over 840 communities across the U.S. have already passed resolutions calling for a constitutional amendment, including over 160 governments in WI and 22 state legislatures.
