Chamber Music & Jazz Series: Brandi Berry Benson & Stephanie Hunt
March 1st: 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm @ C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts: Demmer Recital Hall
Baroque violinist and Bluegrass fiddler Brandi Berry Benson’s “four-string acrobatics” and “indispensable skill” (TimeOut Chicago) have been praised as “bright,” “lively,” “pleasing” (Hyde Park Herald) “alert [and] outstanding” (Chicago Classical Review). In this program, violin will be met with the versatile Stephanie Hunt on cello, continuing the glow from the duo’s recently released Silver Linings, an album featuring a mix of Baroque and Bluegrass music in the form of suites, preludes and new fiddle tunes. Their recent work has also included a Chickasaw suite based on the melodies of the Chickasaw Nation, of which Brandi is a member.
Chamber Series concerts are free of charge. Charitable contributions to the Ripon College Friends of the Arts program are welcome and encouraged to support the continuation and development of experiential fine arts programming. For information about donations, please contact Kelly Nielsen.
