Faculty & Student Recital: Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater
March 25th: 10:00 pm - 11:00 pm @ Demmer Recital Hall
Andrew Schaeffer, organ, will collaborate with Erin Bryan and Lydia Wiley Deal ’22 in an afternoon performance of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater. Dr. Schaeffer will be playing on the college’s Bruce Case portative organ, while Dr. Bryan and Ms. Wiley Deal will be singing the soprano and alto solos, respectively.
Composed in 1736, the work was described by Jean-Jacques Rousseau as “the most perfect and touching duet to come from the pen of any composer.”
This event is free and open to the public.
