The Global US and the War on Gaza: America, Israel, and the Politics of Religious Dissent
April 3rd: 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm @ Great Hall
The Center for Politics and the People is bringing Elizabeth Shakman Hurd, Northwestern Professor of Political Science and Professor and Chair of Religious Studies to Ripon College to discuss the intersection of religion and politics. Drawing on a chapter from Hurd’s new book, Heaven Has a Wall: Religion, Borders, and the Global United States, this talk will illuminate recent contestation surrounding US support for Israel in the Gaza war by presenting a longer-range perspective on religion, politics, and American borders.
