Assistant or Associate Professor of Engineering

The Department of Physics and Engineering at Ripon College is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position in Engineering at the Assistant/Associate level starting August 2024. All engineering backgrounds and fields will be considered. Ph.D. in engineering or related field is preferred; ABD will also be considered.

Ripon College is building a B.S. program in Engineering and will pursue ABET accreditation. Ripon’s engineering program will provide a strong technical engineering foundation while delivering valuable liberal arts skills through the College’s award-winning Catalyst curriculum. The College’s first group of engineering students will arrive on campus in fall 2024 and their arrival will coincide with the completion of a $25 million renovation and addition to our current science center. With the completion of the building project, the Engineering program will have dedicated faculty offices, dedicated faculty research spaces, a fully equipped makerspace, a workshop, an intermediate engineering lab, and an advanced engineering lab. In addition, other spaces in the science center will be shared with Physics and other disciplines. Engineering will have access to advanced research equipment for faculty research and faculty/student research. Financial support is available to help build up the equipment in the Physics and Engineering department. In addition, financial support is available to support and promote faculty research in Engineering. The department is establishing strong connections to industrial partners in the Fox Valley Region and the state of Wisconsin. These connections will enable us to offer industry-informed senior design challenges and provide students with internship opportunities.

Required Qualifications: 

Ph.D., or ABD, in Engineering or related field by August 14, 2024.

Strong commitment to student-centered active learning and student engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience working in multicultural environments and interest in developing curricula inclusive of diverse populations.
