Enjoy outdoor lawn concert by Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Rally Band, Jazz Ensemble May 1!

Ripon College will presents its annual Spring Lawn Concert Wednesday, May 1. Featuring the Jazz Ensemble, Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Rally Band, the concert will begin at 6 p.m. on the Memorial Lawn and steps of Harwood Memorial Union. It is free and open to the public.

A picnic dinner and beer/wine will be available for purchase through Sage Dining Services. Seating will be on the lawn. Guests can bring their own lawn chairs and/or blankets. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be presented in Demmer Recital Hall.

Assistant Professor of Music Tobin Shucha and Adjunct Instructor of Music Paul Dietrich conduct the ensembles.

Jazz Ensemble will perform “Folk Song,” by Paul Dietrich; and “Skyhawk,” by Fred Sturm.

Symphonic Wind Ensemble will perform “… And Then the Universe Exploded,” by Olivia Kieffer; and “The Symphonic Beatles: John Lennon and Paul McCartney,” arranged by John Cacavas. Ben Cabala ’24 of Madison, Wisconsin, will be a student guest conductor.

Rally Band will perform “Mambo # 5,” by Dámaso Pérez Prado; and “Jump in the Line,” by Lord Kitchener, as recorded by Harry Belafonte.
