Perseverance
Perseverance | Mel Kolstad
The Perseverance exhibit, which features 1,000 tiny collages by artist Mel Kolstad, will be on view in Caestecker Gallery in C.J. Rodman Center for the Arts at Ripon College from April 2-May 3, 2022. The collages, which are mounted on magnets, will be for sale for a minimum donation of $10 each at the end of the exhibit’s run. All proceeds will support fine arts scholarships at Ripon College. A reception and artist talk will take place at 6:30 p.m. April 29 as part of the Spring Arts Celebration, which includes other visual art, music and theatre offerings.
Kolstad is an anchor of the arts community in the Fox Valley area, having served as an artist, speaker, instructor and arts advocate. She makes her home in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, as a printmaker and collagist, specializing in large series of tiny art. She is also the volunteer curator for the Langdon Divers Gallery, located inside the Fond du Lac Public Library. Kolstad has participated in many artist residencies throughout Wisconsin and has exhibited her work across the Fox Cities and Northern Wisconsin.
