Advising & Support
At Ripon, your success is our success.
Ripon College is 100 percent dedicated to helping our students achieve success and graduate in four years.*
As a student at Ripon, you will be assigned a faculty adviser based on your area(s) of interest. You will meet with your faculty adviser throughout your time as a student–actually, before you even start–to discuss your aspirations, plan your course schedule and plot a future trajectory.
Staff in the Center for Career and Professional Development work alongside faculty to develop and teach innovative, personalized curriculum in Ripon’s innovative Catalyst program and provide additional touch points throughout each of your four years on campus. They implement engaging programming and maintain accurate research that provides students and employers with the data and materials they need to understand career education and job seeking in the fast-paced world of work.
The brand new Franzen Center for Academic Success houses all campus academic support offerings, including one-on-one contract tutoring, drop-in quantitative tutoring, and writing and presentation services. The Center also expands student success programming such as PLUS group tutoring sessions for certain introductory courses, study skills workshops and academic coaching. The Center is managed by a full-time professional director, staffed by highly trained student tutors, and supported by faculty advisors.
Ripon College also houses Student Support Services (SSS), a federally funded United States Department of Education TRIO program that provides a network of academic, personal and career services to 160 students on the Ripon campus who are first generation, lower income or physically or learning disabled.
Special cohort leadership and honor programs are available to provide mentoring and support for students considering applying to national scholars programs.
