Housing & Dining
Students of all walks of life connect through classes, organizations and living and eating together. The residential experience is integral to life at Ripon College. Some of your finest teachers will be fellow students, with whom you will form lifelong friendships, learn tolerance of personal differences and develop character and leadership skills.
Over 90 percent of Ripon students live on campus, with housing options including double and single rooms, suites and apartments for upperclassmen. All residence halls are smoke-free. Learn more about our living options.
You will be matched with a roommate before arriving to campus for your first year. Roommate decisions are made by Residence Life staff after you fill out a “Community Preferences” questionnaire. This questionnaire helps us to determine roommate compatibility, with questions such as, “Do you need to have absolute quiet to study?” You and a friend can list one another as roommates and we will work to place you together whenever possible.
After your first year, you can choose a roommate or live in a single room. Seniors get the chance to live in apartment-styling housing.
“Midnight Breakfast” celebrates a free and delicious break from studying for exams, where staff and faculty serve students scrambled eggs and French toast. Other special services and events include daily vegetarian options, international celebrations and self-service soup and salad bars. A favorite of many students is the homemade bread bar, featured every Friday in the Commons.
